New Oakland A’s Las Vegas Ballpark Renderings Trigger Wacko Fake News Vlog From David SampsonDavid Sampson, who decided to start a video-blog series after his 15 year career as executive with the Montreal Expos and the Florida Marlins. Of late, considering that he’s spent years (too many, I argue) trying to secure financing for a ballpark for the Marlins, and also not even considering tax increment financing as a tool in his financing system, it’s sad that he would take shots at the Oakland A’s successful pursuit of a new ballpark in Las Vegas.Maybe he’s jealous it took John Fisher two years where it took him over six years (and a RICO lawsuit), but whatever the case, he’s got issues with the A’s. So many that he completely whiffed on his latest video about the new renderings of the Oakland A’s Las Vegas Ballpark.First, it’s not A.I. at all, and points to an over-use of that term by people like Sampson who don’t even know a single programming language. Second, he acts as if the renderings really just came out, when in point of fact, they were finished last year October.It’s clear that Mr. Sampson’s playing to the Oakland A’s Fans who don’t live in Oakland, and while this group may be really pissed the A’s are leaving, and blast John Fisher, are totally afraid of crossing Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and even the previous Oakland Mayor (my god-sis) Libby Schaaf (who’s running for State Treasurer). That in itself smells dirty politics, and the A’s fans should be careful who they let write their talking points, lest they wind up giving them to Dave Sampson.Oh, wait.That has to explain why Sampson’s coughing up crap. Like the acreage. If Dave Sampson did his own homework, he would learn that Ben Garcia, the man who came up with the first really cool design of an A’s ballpark for Las Vegas, figured out that it could fit on 9 acres. Moreover, Fenway Park is just 10 acres. Second, the whole space is 36 acres. Third, Ballys and Gaming and Leisure Properties are all too willing to allow the A’s to build on their Tropicana Property, and you would have to be a major league idiot not to see how much money that facility is going to make in its first year.David Sampson is playing Oakland A’s Fans for clicks and views on YouTube and nothing else. There’s no way he can believe the bile he’s spitting up.Stop the fake news, David. You know better.
